AI service layer

AI-powered document processing and interpretation.

The Flowtion AI service layer is built on Microsoft Azure AI Document Intelligence. It processes and interprets business documents, converting their content into structured data for use in enterprise workflows. We tailor the solution to the document type, required data and intended business use.

Let’s discuss document processing →

Microsoft Azure AI Document Intelligence

Microsoft AI technology integrated into Flowtion business workflows.

We use Microsoft technology to process documents and extract their data. Flowtion organises the results into structures suited to the company’s operations and connects them to business workflows, enabling their use in settlement, administration and management reporting.

Text and document structure recognition

Azure AI Document Intelligence supports extracting text, tables and fields from digital and scanned documents. Recognising document structure helps make information available in a form suitable for further processing.

Trainable with document samples

Custom models can be trained on representative samples to extract the required data from specific document types. This provides a foundation for adapting to new formats and can reduce the need for separately coded extraction rules.

Support for targeted review

Confidence scores returned by the service can help identify extracted data that needs review. When designing a Flowtion solution, these scores can inform validation and approval steps according to the requirements of the business process.

Established technology, added business value

With document recognition capabilities already available, implementation can focus on the customer’s documents, business rules and system connections. We combine Microsoft technology with Flowtion’s workflow and financial accounting expertise.

The specific processing capabilities and degree of automation are determined by the model used, document quality and validation on sample documents. For a new document type, integration into the business workflow is configured as part of the implementation project.

About Microsoft document processing technology

Ready-to-use application

AI-powered bank statement processing.

The solution processes statement formats from most major Hungarian banks and extracts their data in a structured form. Flowtion can use this information to build a unified cash transaction data mart, providing a shared data source for settlement workflows and management reporting.

Processing is based on bank statements, so it does not require tightly coupled integration with banking systems. Information from different banks becomes available in a consistent data structure for Flowtion workflows and reporting.

Multiple companies. Multiple banks. Unified cash transaction data.

From bank statements to a shared data asset

From bank statements to a shared data asset

Cash transaction data, ready for business use.

The value of extracted data lies in how it is used: in settlement workflows, central administration and support for management decisions.

A unified cash transaction data mart

Structured data extracted from statements can be organised into a common data model in Flowtion. This unified transaction dataset can feed settlement workflows and provide the basis for management reports and analysis.

Group-level administration

The solution is particularly valuable when financial administration for multiple subsidiaries is handled centrally. Transaction data from different companies is available in a consistent structure for group-level processing and management oversight.

Consistent data across banks

When a company holds accounts with several banks, different statement formats can be processed through one solution. Cash transaction information can therefore be used consistently despite differences between source documents.

New formats without development

The system can be trained quickly on additional bank formats without software development and can intelligently handle changes in statement layouts. During implementation, we verify processing against the relevant sample statements and agree acceptance criteria.

Further applications

Processing additional business documents.

Contracts, work orders and other business documents offer further opportunities for document processing. We scope these as separate projects using sample documents, required data fields and agreed acceptance criteria.

Document and data requirements

We define the source documents, the information needed and where the processing output will be used. Feasibility is assessed using representative document samples.

Designing review points

During solution design, we agree acceptance criteria, exception handling and the points where human review is needed. The business task determines the appropriate level of automation.

Connecting to business workflows

We plan how processed data will populate the relevant Flowtion data structures or connected systems. Custom interfaces are defined in the project specification.

Data handling requirements

We clarify document sensitivity, the processing environment and data handling expectations during assessment. These requirements inform the technical design of the AI solution.
