Flowtion Studio
Custom business solutions built on reusable components.
Studio is a standalone application development platform for solutions tailored to a company’s own processes. It underpins a range of custom business applications and workflows at our customers, and Flowtion’s ready-made products use the same technology foundation.
Let’s discuss your custom workflow →A standalone platform product
Applications shaped around your operations.
Studio is a suitable starting point when the standard workflows of a ready-made product do not adequately cover your requirements. We use the platform’s existing elements to create an application tailored to your business, adding custom development and system integration where needed.
Design the workflow your business needs, with the shared application foundations already in place.

A shared foundation for custom applications.
Business data and forms
Business data structures and related forms can be configured for the specific task, bringing data collection and processing into the same application.
Workflows and approvals
Visually designed workflows define task sequences, owners and decision points. The workflow engine manages execution according to the agreed business rules.
Roles and permissions
Access rights and control points can be configured around participants’ responsibilities, supporting organisational accountability and consistent administration.
Connections to existing systems
The solution can connect to ERP and specialist systems using Flowtion’s integration capabilities. The scope and behaviour of custom interfaces are designed during the project.
Multiple business applications on one platform
Build the next solution on the same foundation.
Studio is particularly valuable when a business regularly needs custom digital solutions. After implementing an internal approval process, a document workflow or a process spanning several departments, further applications can be developed on the same platform. Specific capabilities and integrations are defined within each project.
Experience from production deployments
We use the platform to implement custom use cases and workflows for multiple customers. During assessment, we map each new requirement to the available components and distinguish configuration work from tasks requiring custom development.
AI within a controlled workflow
AI-powered document processing can be connected to the business application, with outputs passing through defined review and approval steps. AI supports processing while the configured application enforces the organisational workflow rules.
Technology middleware
Connecting workflows across business systems.
Studio is also used as a technology middleware layer in multiple implementations. In this role, Flowtion organises data transfer and processing between existing systems into controlled, logged and robust workflows, connecting technical data exchange with business operations.
Invoice data reporting to NAV
Our implementations include support for submitting invoice data to Hungary’s National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV). Flowtion organises the data transfer steps into a defined workflow and uses logging to make execution traceable.
Payment file transmission to MÁK/GIRO
Our implemented solutions include transmitting payment files to MÁK/GIRO. A controlled process and detailed logging support traceability and review of financial data transfers.
These connections are examples of implemented use cases. Source and target systems, data formats and processing rules are scoped for each implementation project.
Data Exchange · live implementation
Group-wide cash transactions in a unified data mart.
At a large energy group, a solution built on the Flowtion Data Exchange module collects data from numerous bank accounts across approximately 20 subsidiaries. Daily cash transactions, transaction histories and bank statements are retrieved to create a unified, structured cash transaction data mart.
The data mart provides a shared foundation for daily operations and management reporting. Data from different companies and bank accounts can be processed in a consistent structure, supporting central administration and group-level oversight.

Energy group · Data Exchange implementationData retrieval and standardisation
Daily transactions, transaction histories and statements from multiple bank accounts are organised into a common structure. The Data Exchange solution connects the source systems with data that can be used in Flowtion.
Operational and management use
Standardised data supports both daily financial tasks and management reporting. The shared data mart provides a consistent information foundation for subsidiary-level and group-wide operations.
Implementation and licensing
A clearly scoped first project, with room for ongoing development.
Implementation starts with discovery and an approved specification, followed by configuration, development where required, testing and training. Studio is available with a server licence and a combination of named or concurrent user licences. Both on-premises and cloud deployments can use a one-time licence fee with annual software maintenance or a monthly subscription. The Data Exchange module requires only a server licence, with unlimited users.
Building the business case
Where does the business value come from?
Reuse can create value with each new solution.
Reusing existing components allows more requirements to be met through configuration and can reduce custom development. Expected savings should be assessed by comparing total project costs for solutions meeting the same functional and quality requirements.
Assess the business case against total costs: licensing, implementation, integration, internal project effort, operations and support.
Management estimate – example
3–5 custom initiatives / yearThe management estimate considers several development initiatives per year and assumes a 40–60% reduction in bespoke development costs. This is a planning scenario, not a general product promise; it must be validated against component fit, integrations and the total cost of the platform.
Illustrative estimate, not a measured customer result or a savings commitment. The value of released capacity does not automatically translate into an equivalent cash saving.
